Sometimes out on a trek, My minds wonders and I think of little projects. I've always kept my belt extra long for adjustments. If just wearing a shirt or have a few layers on during colder weather. When working with just a thin shirt, I had to punch a few more holes for the prong which leave a longer tail. So, I tried a small project and I made a Belt Loop. Ended up making another. I know it may be over kill and my previous loop

was a leather lace tied in a loop.

I appreciate the input. I never thought about the ladies Chatelaine. Didn't know much about them, so looked it up. Ya never know what they had hanging there. Always learn something new.

Men were using something like a Chatelaine a couple of decades before ladies started using them. Your belt loop holder could be used to hold a ring of flintlock tools and many other things that might come in handy.

I had to make a crude one but seems very handy for dealing with that long belt tail. The little turtle is actually real antler and not cheap plastic.View attachment 84966
Turtle talisman/ mojo, I like it, it's been, my companion throughout all my days of reenacting for the last 40 years.
I carry it on almost every piece of gear I have here's one on my shooting bag, I had another piece on the other strap that was nicer but someone really admired it so in true native style I gave it to them.
