In the next few years I'll likely be relocating from Maryland to Pennsylvania, probably around Waynesboro. Can anyone point me to any living history or muzzleloading groups in the area?

Check out the Greencastle sportsmen club, just north of Greencastle Pa. on route11 A few years back we visited a rondy they had there, do not know if that part of the club is still active or not.

The best place to find Muzzle-Loading info in the area, is Ft Chambers Gun Shop. It is in Scotland, PA, which is North of Chambersburg off of I-81 at the Chambersburg Mall exit.

As far as I know, this is the only pure Muzzle-Loading shop in the area and they are well connected with everything Black Powder.

I used to live in Waynesboro, if you are into reenacting join the Maryland Forces group. The border is porous. Also, Fort Loudon and the Concocheague Institute are great places to get information on the period.

You only need the permit to carry a concealed handgun.
Are you sure about that? PA has pretty strict rules about driving with even an unloaded firearm in a vehicle. If that’s the case, I don’t think you can open carry even black powder without a permit, can anyone confirm?

My understanding is that open carry ends at the outside of your car door. cannot have a loaded weapon in a vehicle without a carry permit. I imagine that transporting comes under FOPA rules.
Is this one of those rules where a BP isn’t considered a firearm but if you do certain things with it (such as carry it on a school property) it suddenly becomes a firearm? 🤷‍♂️
