Go to home depot or a store like that, and see if they can direct you to someone who just purchased some hardwood strip flooring. It comes in boxes 7 ft long x 12” wide and about 4” high. Its a simple matter to shorten the box up as needed. Builders just throw the boxes away by the dozens as they lay the floors. They’re pretty sturdy, but still bubble wrap well and do get insurance.
