OK call me obsessive, OCD too much time on my hands etc. etc. I am giving (again) a few shots of how to load 1858 44 cal. 28gr paper cartridges. I am not sure how it was done exactly in 1858 but these work really well. It just takes some time. So get a copy of Magnificent Seven (to watch while you do all this) and the supplies needed and here is how. This is for newer shooters not you old guys like me born in 1858 or close too it. OK there are all the shots and i usually do each step totally and move on to next step. Your glue for your balls is optional. I use a king size cig paper (shown) and cut the whole batch in half exactly right for a paper cartridge. I twist the tops with a smear of glue stick maybe a dry twist might work but I like the solid from a smear of glue especially when running across fields dodging yankee shooters. When I load in gun I cut twist off to open it up.( you can bite it off if you prefer) This opens top so it can take spark from cap when firing. Works quite well and no wad needed as paper tightens load in chamber. I put the gun shot there cause you bunch like guns.. So there is a complete tutorial from old guy. Good shooting
