FWIW - I’ve made a revision to the basic parrot vice and adapted it to a board that allows for a lot of freedom to hold parts etc.... You will also note that there are outriggers and a metal working vice that can be moved around or removed as required.

This is the vise I have. It is versatile, but I do have a proper woodworking vise on the bench as well as a heavy metal working vise.
