A rare experience of two bucks 30 minutes apart after first light as they were cruising for does during the rut.

Well... OK! A couple trips afield with my beloved Nell.

From the opening day of the 2001 Pennsylvania flintlock season.

Turkey season is just a little more than a month away, here in PA! A jake from the fall past.

Here is a pic of a Blacktail taken in '97, the good pics were lost when we lost the disposable camera we used to take pics from the kill with typical pose in period gear and all the good stuff.

Rebel ~ Nell is a .45 rifle. I use 80 grains of 3f for deer and 45 for turkeys. It shoots very well with both loads. I have plans to build a .32 caliber rifle for turkeys.

Good genetics there...

Is that a left handed rifle or is the photo reversed?

yes we do have some good genes here, problem is they rarely live past 3 1/2. just too much pressure on too small pieces of property. 2 of those are 3 1/2, the others are all 2 1/2. oh well.

The gun is a lefty hawkins from Cabela's.
