Love you guys! Thanks for all of your help. I have a quick update:

Went to the range and tried .52 RB with a .025 patch. It worked. Was able to ram the ball down. Hit the target as well. Will maybe try the .53 RB as well.

Thanks again for all of your help!

Hi!

Was at the range a couple days ago to try my .54 Pedersoli Tryon. I used or rather I tried to use a .535 RB with a .025 patch. I was not able to even press the ball into the muzzle! I did not have a mallet with me so I didn't try hammering it in. Is this normal? Should I just try to use a .53 or even a .52 RB with a thicker patch?
In my Tryon 54, I used a 530 ball and a .20 patch with moose milk. Extremely accurate.

I had a similar problem with my .50 cal Frontier / Blue Ridge. I was using a .490 round ball and a T/C patch. This combo works great in my T/C Hawken but wow was a super tight fit in the Pedersoli.
Recomendations ?
T/C patches are usually .018 thick. T/C rifling is 0.06. In my .50, I use a .495 round ball and a .010 patch. Rifling is 0.12 deep.

I use a 535 and a .012 linen patch in my 54 renegade and even that is pretty tight.

My Tryon from 1996 has pretty shallow grooves. I use a .530 ball and .015 patches measured after I use 7/1 water/Ballistol for lube. Then dry the patches flat. I tried the .010 patches but mine burn through with 80 grains FFG. The bore on mine is tight also. I also see that the Tryon came in 2 different twist rates I assume. Mine is 1/65 for round ball but there is also one that shoots .540 Maxi balls 420 grain. Does anyone know the twist rate for that barrel/rifle? It doesn't say on their website. I buy .012-.013 pillow ticking and when I apply patch lube they swell to .015.
