Have you ever wondered about why no one markets a self aligning hunting bullet mold design for a wide flat nose with a spherical back end to use a lubed cloth patch?

Yes, I suspect it has to do with bullet length, twist rates and stability and requirement for the patch to be perfectly centered and of perfect size to be used. That's a guess though. I have shot WFN hard cast bullets hunting with unmentionable handguns and they are real deal game thumpers. They go DEEP and do a lot of damage on the way. Wound channels look a lot like PRB at higher impact velocity to me.

They made them in the 1800's: once in a while you will find an antique mold for them. I don't remember what they are called though.

It's deals with centuries old experiments by various global military trying to improve weaponry.
It was found fairly quickly that round bottom elongated projectiles didn't work well. It's about what we know today as basic aerodynamics.
