I took a gun in trade and broke the little brass keeper off the patch box spring trying to open the darn thing. I have since rectified the patch box fit so it will open and close and would welcome some advice on how to reinstall the keeper back onto the spring. It's small stuff -- the catch is about half the size of a BB.

The tiny piece of brass attaches to the top of the spring. I'm looking for a good way to do it.

Two approaches; Attatch with the lowest temp silver solder you can find. You may have to retemper 2/3rds of the spring.
Other option is to saw and file out a new spring and I would make sure the wee knob is part of the new spring. As in all in one piece.
Hopefully one of the more learned members can come up with a better solution but thats all I got.
Good luck & Cheers Bob Reader
