The subject of patch cutters was posted awhile back, so I thought I'd show what I use to make 50 cal patches. This method was a joint effort by my wife and her desire not to make RB patches for me from her scraps after making a quilt.
Went to a plactic store and picked up a 1/4" thick and 4X4" square (freebee).
Bored a hole 1 3/4" in dia. the wife went to the fabric store and got an 18mm Rotary Cutter (part#RTY-4).
Place the tinplate over the patch material and using the rotary cutter with the blade facing toward the center, cut a nice round patch.
This is one more method of cutting your own patches.
