Thanks for all answer

Now to the next how do you apply iy to the patch (beeswax/oliveoil mix) ? I was thinking i'd just dip the patch in it when it was melted

What I do is melt the beeswax in a canning jar sitting in a pan of boiling water and add the olive oil & stir. When it cools I scoop some into a small 2X3 tin I carry in my bag. When shooting I rub my patch (either pre cut or cut at the muzzle) on one side, place that side to the bore, add a ball and ram it home. Works for me.

Crisco. It's not fancy and you don't need a chemistry degree to mix it up. Also, women appreciate a guy who knows his way arround a kitchen. Kind of confuses them too, which is a good thing from time to time.

I use oil, Bear, olive, Deer, whatever I have and beeswax 50/50 or up or down depending on weather and just keep it in a small tin and rub the patch on one side before loading, I prefer less rather than enough to make a mess so to speak. if you try some different combos you will see what your gun/you like

Yes that's correct. you don't want to use the mix that has pumice in it. just the cream mix - all of the brands I have seen are white.
the sort that has grit mixed in is yellow or orange in color. don't want that.
it does great for a field wipe-down if you are camped out also. wipe down with it then use a cloth damp with hot water to follow.
