I've been interested in trying Ballistol, myself. I asked quite a number of shooters about it and got a wide range of replies. Best I can figure is that you either love it or hate it. Didn't get much if any opinion of it that was in the middle. Still might try it, though. Good? Not so good?

I tried some today out of my .32,,,,,,,, 6/1 ratio and i shot some of the tightest groups ive evr shot with this gun! Multiple 5 shot groups under an inch! The ball started/seated pretty hard with this dry patch, but i guess i dont care if its going to shoot like that!

what about murphys oil soap :hmm: Has anybody tried that? It should mix well with water, and is made from veg. i think :v

That's a fairly popular ingrediant in some recipes. I've used it in several different combinations and found that it leaves a persistent brown goombah in the barrel. Just when you think it's clean, run a very tight dry patch and out it comes with brown on it. :shocked2:

The other day when I ordered round balls from E. May I did bring up what he was using for patch lube for target shooting. His responce was Winter mix windshield washing fluid and murphy's oil soap mix. I said really & does it work, he said he & most of the match shooters use it that he sells balls to. ? go figure. I mixed up his formula. 4 or 5 parts windshield fluid & 1 part murphy's in a 16oz. plastic water bottle shake well pour some in a small bowl take your strip of patch material and roll it up and drop it in for about 1 min. and remove it and squeeze out the excess while its rolled up and put it in a bagie and go the the range. Then just pour the rest of what you didn't use back in the org. bottle. If it would ever quit raining here I'm going to give it a try.
