As many others have said, mix the olive oil and bees wax together and heat gently in a microwave until it is just melted enough to mix together. Another ingredient that I add after the bees wax and Olive oil mix is melted is just about a teaspoonful of Murphy's Oil Soap. Stir well until the mix cools and becomes creamy. This mix will lube your patches and will also aid in controlling fouling.
 
Used groundhog oil and beeswax for 20 some years. Then switched to deer tallow and never looked back. The deer tallow won't run out of the tins in hot weather, that's why you had to add the beeswax to the groundhog oil, in cold weather I just keep the tallow close to my body. You get enough fat off one Ohio deer to supply you for years. I just keep it in the freezer so it don't get rancid. Dilly
