New in box Paterson Texas Model produced by Pietta and sold by Dixie Gunworks. These do not appear to be currently available.
The Texas model does not come with an attached loading lever but includes a separate loading tool. This Paterson comes with the original box, paperwork, loading tool, and a custom made holster made by T.D. Helton Leather Makers of Georgia. The revolver has been turned but has never been fired, the holster and box are in new condition as well. Please private message for additional information.

These Pietta Patersons work fantastic, but they require a loading tool that appears to not be included here, or an outside cylinder loader. I made an offer (declined) on this gun, because I have a few already. But for someone who does not have one, they are absolutely no obtainium out there, and most likely will stay that way for a long time from what I have seen. If you are a fan of Sam Colt, this was his first commercial product, replete with the ridiculous drop down trigger that actually works great. I can't say enough positive about these amazing replicas.

Ad says loading lever included and is shown in a couple of photos, I believe he meant it didn’t have the attached loading lever like the Uberti copy I have, very interesting and hard to find model, holster is a nice plus also.

There is in fact a loading tool INCLUDED just to clear any doubt. Thanks to all for you kind and informative comments about the Paterson. The Paterson’s are unique and very difficult to run down these day.

I have one on order from Pietta that I got for 820.00 from Michael Comer at comergunworks.com

EMF is the main importer with a lot more clout than anyone else. They have not had them for years now.

When you get up around 800-1000 per copy, it becomes possible for a small American shop to pick them up and start producing. So far Italy is holding all the marbles, but we can always hope. I never understood, nor will I ever understand, why Winchester, Colt, Remington, S $ W etc. sat by quietly and let their legendary products be made overseas. Seems they were all their designs to begin with, and fortunes were made. Whenever these makers did get involved, it was in a minor trade work, or a full blown custom way. Seems also all the major manufacturers struggle financially in a booming market.

Uberti made them with a built on loading lever. But they are out of production. Pietta still makes them and they come with a loading tool. But they are easy to break. Dixie gun works have the tool for 32.00

If you have not already read about John Coffee Hays and the early Texas Rangers and are interested in the 1st Colt's used in combat and how mounted warfare of the plains differed from more heavily treed areas to the east, read p.167 thru179 in THE GREAT PLAINS, by Walter Prescott Webb.

The quotes from surviving recipients of the .36 cal. five-shooters are worth taking note of. :)

Yeah, I’ve read about it. Just making a joke about what a pain in the ass it is to reload. Lol. But still better than what they had available at the time. We just got spoiled in this century.
