Looking for a pattern for a shawl collar waistcoat for use in an 1825-1840 mountain man outfit.

Some were double breasted and some were single. Flat across the bottom with no V. This one is shiny but I'd probably make mine with wool on the outside and linen on the inside.

Waistcoat

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is one you might check out:

Here is a picture of a completed waistcoat.

If your sewing skills are not up to what is required for the Simplicity pattern (mine weren't), you can also make a civilian version of the standard Civil War military vest. With a slightly taller stand up collar, it will do just fine for the 1830's. Here is the pattern I got to make mine:

Best of luck.

Thanks for the info. The pattern was only $17, but the shipping was to be over $25 for regular shipping or $75 for priority mail. I found one for $25 plus $2 shipping on another site. The pattern is out of print.

Take care,
