I'm looking for patterns for shirts & pants. Seems like CW & RW are well covered, but mostly I only find patterns for buckskin outfits when I look 1800-1840. I would think there would be work shirts and canvas or wool pants to be had.

Likely I am somehow searching wrong and patterns are out there. Know where?

The patterns are all over the place from typical supply houses.
Your always going to get debate over a narrow time range and a specific persona from the purists.
But you can't go wrong with a Drop Sleeve shirt and Drop Front pants.
Here's 4 pages from Track for just men, go back to the main list for children and womens; http://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Item.aspx/429/1

Pg2; Pattern 61 and 64 for shirts and 73 for pants.
I had to add belt loops for the pants because I don't look like the model wearing the pants,
(disclaimer: I don't tuck in the shirt so nobody see's the belt)
Pg3; I really like pattern 88, roomy and very comfortable,, 89 is just another Drop sleeve with arm gussets.
All these patterns fit in at a typical `vous and can be easily argued with a purist as common mans clothing to fit into about a 100yr time period.
