Full disclosure, the kit was 40, but I ended up spending about 130 by the time all the parts, stain and blueing were purchased. Still a smoking deal as far as I'm concerned considering the kit was $105 in 1977.
Dad paid $95.00+tax for my Christmas present in 1979, bought from Matthew, Heard and Kady Hardware store. It was a CVA Kentucky rifle kit. I assembled it in my 8th grade shop class.
It's still in my possession.
Congratulations on a Great find, and chasing down the parts to finish it.
Good on ya!

Great find, I got a mountain rifle kit at a gun show about three years ago for 80 bucks, thought that was a great deal! They are great shooters, I have 4, 2 kits that I built, a factory finished one and a big bore 54 caliber that was a kit built by someone else. I have to work on that one to fix all the mistakes!
