I don't keep track of hours because I work slower than a lot of people that build. If you build one take your time, you will have a 100 hours into it...Thanks norman. I bet it took a lot of hours.

I would like to see it when you are done.This thread came at a very good time. A friend gave me a used 1"x32"x 50 cal. Douglas barrel he had. I was thinking about building a full stock Hawken around it but I think I'll go with a Leman stock from Pecatonica. I've always been leery of precarved stocks but the reviews here sound good. According to their website the LOP is up to 15 1/2". I have quite a few spare parts I can use up at the same time.
That may be while but I'll post some photos. I'm thinking I might build a "J&S Leman". The Hawken full stock they sell has less drop at heel which will fit me better. This is going to be a collection of spare parts anyway and not a real copy of anything.I would like to see it when you are done.
