Excuse the dumb question but I saw a pic of the muzzle end of a Pedersoli 1861 Springfield and no rifling are visible, the gun is brand new, does Pedersoli make smoothbore 1861?

Here is a picture of the inside of a Pedersoli 1861 Springfield Image_2021-08-29 09_19_54_935.JPG

It isn't a dumb question at all. It's a good question. Pedersoli might make a smoothbored 1861... Not sure. Dixie carries a smoothbored 1861, but it is made by Chiappa. I thought these were just for reenactors, but some of our forum members from overseas advised me that rifled arms are prohibited in some European countries, while smoothbores are allowed. I don't know, but I would not be surprised at all if Pedersoli made smooth bored 1861's for the European market.

Are there similar rules in Canada?

I'm with Bob on this one. Need to know what market that picture is intended for. For the US market at least, they're rifled. It's 3 lands and grooves and they're shallow and wide.
