Beautiful rifle, bought it new. Thought I might shoot at an Elk with it while living out west. But not going to get that done.
Ok, I’ll bite…. How do you know? These are beautiful rifles that shoot as good as they look. Ask me how I know...
As well as this rifle points I’d expect you are getting that kind of results. Some fine shooting youre doing. I had not gotten to working up the load this one likes - having missed this season and retiring to TN before next season. Working on getting my hands on a SMR in .40, gonna shoot some smaller crittersI own this same rifle. With a .530 ball, .015 patch and 80grs of 2f Swiss, it shoots a one-hole group.
Good luck on the hunt. I’ve several big muleys around here I’d to to see across my sights to but can’t count on a convenient rifle rest when that might happen. Looking forward to pointing a SMR… they look sweet and I’m told are tack drivers. I like elk jerkyI've got a cow elk hunt in a little over 3 weeks. If I can find one standing still within about 80 yards or so, she's going to be in trouble...at least that's the plan.
If you haven't handled an SMR, you are in for a treat. They are light and svelte, sort of like shouldering a broom stick compared to your RMH. Good luck with your sale. These are great rifles and rarely appear for sale, at least not on this site. If I didn't already have one, we'd likely be having an entirely different conversation.
Good luck down range. Squeeze - dont do what i do and jerk. Enjoy the hunt. Retirement sounds like a good deal.I tell you what, if I tip one over, I'll be in touch...
BTW, you'll love retirement. I retired nearly 6 years ago. I get up every morning and practice. I haven't gotten it right yet, but every day I practice. You'll love it, congratulations!
