Richard,

Please let me make myself perfectly clear. First off, I didn't pre-order a flintlock from Tip Curtis. Nor did I ever talk with him or make plans with him to build me one.

What I am going to do is definitely buy one from him when I go to Friendship Indiana this coming spring.

I did mention before that weather I was able to buy the Pedersoli Blue Ridge flintlock or not, I was still going to buy a Tip Curtis built one this spring. Nothing has changed!

I do not know why you felt it necessary to make the comment that you did. Maybe what you were getting at went over my head!

I really don't know nor do I care.

Respectfully, Cowboy

I've got a "Blue Ridge" which is about the same in .32 caliber. Very accurate. The stock is over-built. I took off the brass trigger guard and butt-plate and replaced them with iron and it makes a good SM rifle. My TG in brass broke, which is one reason I replaced it and epoxied it down.

It's (or mine) has a coil spring. Mine is a percussion. I'd recommend it as a very good production rifle. I wish it were slimmer in the forestock, but it ain't. I suppose it could be slimmed down but I haven't. As is, it's robust. As for Pedersoli flint locks, can't say, but there is plenty of posts about them. Seem to be pretty good.

I don't own anything above .50 caliber. So I'm talking about type rather than specifics.

Gene, Spikebuck has a topic that he created a while back. It's still on going with a new post on the finished product in The Gun Builder's Bench area. He had preformed a lot of rework stuff on his Pedersoli Frontier. It really turned out to be a beautiful rifle. He definitely has me intrigued! :)

Respectfully, Cowboy

I guess I'll just purchase a semi-custom in the white from Tip Curtis. It will be a whole lot nicer muzzleloader anyway! It's just that I could have gotten the Blue Ridge at a very low price.

I talked to Tip this morning, never talked to a nicer guy, had all the time in the world to talk not just about his guns but shooting and muzzleloaders in general. Feel like I started talking to a stranger and ended up a half hour or 45 min. later talking to a friend.

To me, that's the kind of reputation to have follow you around.

Same here. I have been to his shop 3 times and he always treats me like a friend and has showed me around his business every time there. I bought a .32 SMR from him the last time I stopped and have the utmost respect for Tip. A class act. Greg. :)

C.G., time to get together and put some rounds down range. Maybe wait until it warms just a bit, say Sat.
