I have a Pedersoli Classic .12 gauge sxs shotgun with screw in chokes. I want to deer hunt with a .690” lead round ball and patch using the cylinder bore chokes. I have read some of the previous post on shooting LRB out of a .12 gauge. Anyone have experience with this particular combination/shotgun? I am learning, so I am open to all advice. Thanks.

I have a pedersoli double but only shoot shot in it. I have a cva double that I added sights to just for RB shooting, I use a patched .705 ball and 90 hrs of 3f. At 75 yards it shoots a 3” group. My longest game shot with it was 80 yards on a caribou.

I have one that I shoot .690 rb out of. I sight it in at 25 yards accuracy is acceptable at that range but would love to figure out a sight for it maybe a homemade peep. You have to hold it the same every time

Does your Pedersoli have screw in choke tubes? What chokes are you using? What load and patch are you using? I’m thinking I want to use cylinder bore chokes with 70 grains FFG, an overpowder wonder wad, a cushion wad and a .010 lubed patch with the .690 lead ball.

My experience with Pedersoli smoothies is limited to only a couple I have had. But, I found the state gauge is often quite different than what really is. e.g. My 12 ga. SxS was really a 14 ga. All that is left is my Brown Bess, also supposed to be 12 ga. is really an 11 ga. I suggest you measure the bores carefully and load a loose ball to avoid sticking one halfway down after the first shot. Even with swabbing, smoothies tend to gunk up.
