BigPaGuy, I've posted quite a lot about this - see my previous posting above. You can buy flints to fit, but not everyone stocks them. I found it was quite easy to knapp the back of oversized flints (5/8 inch) to make them fit. Lay the flint upside down on the edge of a workbench, place a piece of plank over it with the back end of the flint protruding, clamp the plank hard on both sides, then whack the back of the flint with a little brass knapping hammer until enough chunks and flakes come off. Wear safety glasses and breathing mask. The resulting flint may be slightly wide for the frizzen but if it's a good English flint can spark beautifully.
