Only problem is I have no proper sized flint, so I can't go right out and shoot it. Dang.

Very good! Several years ago I bought a new-in-box assembled Peder H-F for under a hundred bucks at auction! I did strip and stain the wood and darken the metal. Your wood seems to be nice walnut, whereas mine is a splintery type of mystery wood. Good luck and nice job!
