It is under lock and key at the gunshop until permits can be sorted - yes our government has categorised muzzleloaders with high powered repeating rifles. I won't get my hands on it this year unfortunately. The first pic will hopefully have a nice deer in the foreground!

unbelievable... What kind of wait is required?

I hope it is better than it first sounded or can be tweaked easily and cheaply. Enjoy and be safe!

It will be about one or two months so just after Christmas, kind of suits me so I can pay it off. Who has money at this time of year?! I think it will shape up pretty good, the bore and everything looks pretty good. Anything else can be sorted out.

As I said, it just felt too good in my hands to not buy it. I had a good look at the flint which appeared to be too long for the rifle as I believe they are supposed to take a short flint anyway and the lead around it didn't help so will replace it with leather. I have had a .50 before so have all the required components and gear. This will be my meat and potatoes gun. Well maybe not potatoes!

Congratulations!

You sound like you got a good one. And as said above, if it needs parts Graeme Forbes can get them absolutely, the wait is a while but I find that the months fade from memory after a while.

Regarding the wait, I bought my Pedersoli Mortimer Target flinter paid up in late July, went travelling, came home put in permit application in Western Australia in early November, and hope to have it by Christmas. Meanwhile, the flints (and wads for the 12G barrel) from TOTW got stopped in Customs until I explained in writing what they were all about.

thanks for the correction.

I should probably not admit that I have been eyeballing them myself...
