Because it is a pistol, my patch suggestion will be much thinner than the patch I would recommend for a rifle.
That said, use a .440 diameter round ball patched with .010 to .012 thick cotton patches.
Your pistol will work fine with a powder charge of 15 to 35 grains of 3Fg BLACK POWDER both for the main charge and to prime the pan.
Notice I said Black Powder. My reason for this is the modern synthetic black powders like Pyrodex and 777 work very poorly if at all in a flintlock.
The manufacturer of these powders strongly suggests that if they are to be used you still need to prime the pan with real black powder and you need to pour at least 5 grains of real black powder down the barrel first before any synthetic powder is added to make up the full powder charge.
Have fun and don't forget to ask questions on our site. We can help you with anything that comes up.
thank you for all the help zonie,i think i allready made an error i orderd .445 balls and .010 prelubed patches as per the pedersoli web site, can i still use these?
yes you can use the .445 balls for the thickness of the patch you have to try it out not to loose and not to tight. As a first load I would suggest 20gn bp or a .32 S&W case full bp.
Have fun
