So after much indecision on my part I ordered a pedersoli kentucky rifle kit in .32 cal. It will be my first flintlock and while I've never even held one I've read so much about them I can't foresee having much issue..... Still a few things I need to get but as it will be a while before it's ready to shoot I should have time to afford flints, real black, and a ball mold. Ordered from dixie gun works (I know they are a little backed up) since they were having a sale for $595. Can't wait to get it and start working on it.

Enjoy. There are not many things more satisfying than a successful hunt with a rifle you have built. The build itself is a lesson in patience, study and careful work. Polecat

I did one back in October, .45 caliber. Reworked some of the stock and did minimal carving on it. The stock work, nose piece and ramrod pipes required the most work as well as fitting the sights, everything else was pre-fit.

My Latest Kit Build

I put one together about a year ago. Shoots one hole groups at 25 yards with .310 hornady round balls, 20gr 3f and .010 patches. Lock works really good. I put in an RMC OxYoke touchhole liner in mine. Very fast ignition.
