I was wondering if anyone out there had experience shooting the Pedersoli Le page flint pistol? It looks like a beautiful pistol, nice woodwork and a great set trigger, but the lock looks to be less than great. I wanted to get one for target shooting, but I am a little leary of the lock for extensive use. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I have shot the pistol Many times. A friend of mine has a pair & when I was looking to get a GOOD, ACCURATE pistol, he let me try his. IMHO, they are one of the best As to the LOCKS, they are concidered, by many, including myslf, to be among the "fastest" & most reliable out there. The triggers are also GREAT.& the balance  If you are shooting for "score" & like the feel of the "trad. gip" then you will be VERY pleased (IMHO)

Why don't I own one ?? BECAUSE I decided that I was more accurate & consistent with the Pedersoli Mortimer ( because of the "saw handle" vs the "trad. grip) By the way the locks & triggers are also "super"on these guns.(I own both flinters & "cappers") (I also own 6 other Pedersoli's, 1 pistol & 5 long arms)

I have both the flint and the percussion. the flintlock is fancier but both are extremely well done. The lock is as reliable as Ive seen and flints last pretty long if you keep them napped and adjusted. My only problem with the Lepage flintlock is that I cant shoot it worth beans. I can hit the bottom of a coke can at 25 yards with the percussion but am incompetent with the flintlock.
