Pedersoli plainsman .45 half stock. Wonderful shape except some dings on wood by the barrel pin (see pics) 1:48 twist I believe. I’m really looking for a .32, .36, flintlock. For the right one I can add money to the trade.

thanks all,

I would also look at kits or any caliber from .32-.40. I have a .32 percussion but looking to add a flint squirrel/bunny rifle into the rotation.

Donny,
Are you sure this is a Pedersoli? I may have overlooked it but did not see it among the Pedersoli inventory. The Plainsman was originally designed by a gunsmith in Lowell Ohio (name escapes me) and made in Italy for Replica Arms out of Marietta Ohio. They marketed the rifle until they sold the business. I don't remember if it was Val Forgett who bought the company or not. They were very good little rifle, small, light and accurate. Is it marked Pedersoli?

It is definitely a pedersoli. From my research Cecil Brooks had a hand in the design. They are a discontinued model. Pedersoli is marked on the barrel, is shown in pics. Not a lot of these around. Great rifle, skinny, light but longer,53”. Shoulders great and easy to hold steady.

Balls! I can't wait until I have enough time here to buy something.
If you're referring to the fact that you're a new member, you can buy stuff on here now. You just can't list an item for sale until your 14 day wait period is up ( plus 5 posts ) or if you become a supporting member you can immediately.

Donny,
You are correct, Cecil did design the rifle and went to Italy to supervise building the prototype. Apparently over the years Pedersoli has picked it up. You're also correct that they don't show up often, especially in the condition of yours. Good luck you have a nice rifle.
