A guy at a gun show has what he calls a
"Davide Pedersoli" flintlock? The barrel was marked Ardesa Spain and didn't have the Pedersoli logo. Does or did Pedersoli use Spanish barrels?

Pedersoli guns are ITALIAN, not Spanish. Either he is mislead or he is trying to mislead you. It could also be a "Frankengun" built from miscellaneous parts.

I agree with hanshi. It seems you know more about that rifle fhan the owner does :haha: . Stay clear of both :v .

As far as I know Pedersoli is 100% Italian.

What does he want for the Ardessa gun? What's the condition and how does it spark? Point out that it's a cheaper gun, maybe you can get a deal.

I don't think he knew what he had, but I wasn't completely sure myself. The rifle didn't have a brand or model name on it, just Ardesa, Spain. I'm guessing it's a Traditions Pennsylvania. He wanted 650.

"... and didn't have the Pedersoli logo ..."

Bingo! This answered your own question.

All Pedersoli guns that I have seen are clearly marked Pedersoli, along with Italian proof marks and date marks.

Ardesa is a Spanish company that makes guns that are often sold under other names.

Many Klatch

Over on the percussion forum, there is a discussion about Ardesa barrels. The title of the post is: I didn't need this. Hope this helps you.
