I don't own a Scout but do own a Pedersoli Indian Trade Musket. Don't have any problems with mine. While some will talk bad about Pedersoli mostly for historical accuracy issues, I truly enjoy owning, shooting, and hunting with mine.

I've owned a couple of Pedersoli guns and was generally pleased with them. The only smoothbore, however, was a 12ga dbl barrel percussion shotgun. And it was a splendid example. Very good looking, reliable and good shooting; it was super fun to shoot.

I have a .45 Flintlock Pedersoli Scout Rifle which I love and when I saw this Thread I had to go to Pedersoli's Website to see the new Scout Shotgun as I was not aware they made one. It is not listed. Still I have long pondered about getting hold of another Barrel and having it reamed to a Smoothbore as the Scout is a joy to carry and Shoot in the Field. A smoothbore would add that dimension of versatility only a Shotgun has.

Do you want a single barrel only or consider a SxS caplock
Dixie new catalog #168 had new pefersoli scout shotguns on page 4

I just converted a worn out 45 cal Hawken barrel to a smoothbore. Was going to up it ro 28gauge but stopped at 32gauge so a 490 and thick patch would work. Been wanting shotgun but just can't see paying what they want. Prices are insane.
