i'm thinkin' i wan't to install a peep sight on my cva hawken, but i don't see one listed. does anybody make one for it, or does anybody now which one will fit with a little enginering. the cva has a short tang vs. the T/c hawken long tang, so i don't know if the one made for it will work. and it would be better if it was mounted on metal anyway, at least it would be more stable.

I've got a Skinner peep sight on my CVA. It mounts in a 3/8" dovetail and has several different size apertures you can screw in depending on your preference. It's adjustable for windage and elevation. I leave the aperture out and use the large opening as a ghost ring.

I've mounted mine at the rear sight dovetail or I suppose you could cut a new dovetail closer to the breech if you prefer it to be closer to your eye.

I have not seen any made, although I am sure that there are plenty of DIY people out there that can tell you how to do mount one from other makers/manufacturers. The most simple I have heard of is someone taking a thumbscrew and drilling a hole through the middle of it and replacing the tang screw with it. Not sure how what you will have to do with the front sight either to get the heights to match up.

i've looked at the Skinner sight's, and i don't know if i would like to have one mounted were the rear sight goes. and i don't want to make another dovetail in the barrel.

Brownells sells a peep that goes in your rear sight dovetail but moves the sight closer to you by quite a bit. They are 13 bucks a piece. I have order 3 to try. They have a standard 3/8th dovetail so might take a little fitting. They come with a stepped ramp for elevation adjustment and of course windage via left right tap.

Other than that Lyman, Williams et all make a large variety of tang sights and tang mounted click adjustable aprerature sights.

what is the product number on the peep sight at brownells? I would like to see it as well.

Edit: Nevermind, found it. That looks pretty neat. Thanks for posting it.
