WANTED Peep Sight that will fit on a SMR Tang

I cannot see the rear sight clearly anymore. I have a 32 cal with a rear tang peep and can see perfectly and shoot great with it and want to get one for the SMR as well. Prefer something that's non-adjustable and looks somewhat primitive.

If your SMR has a short tang this may be suitable.

Its a long thin lolli pop type design.

I put one of Jeff's folding peeps on the top barrel bolt of my Kibler SMR and it works very well. You will need to order a longer flat barrel bolt(which Jeff also has available), as the current one is too short. In addition, I also replaced the front sight with a taller one. I found when using the small front sight supplied with the kit, I was hitting high with no additional adjustment available on the peep. The combination made a world difference in me being able to see the front sight better. I was so happy with the first peep, I just ordered a second for my Woodsrunner and installed it today.
The brass peep doesn't compliment the SMR but the functionality far exceeds the ascetics in my case.

I could be wrong so i'll be looking for following answers. It seems to me that to get a non-adjustable peep you would have to have some precise measurements before drilling your hole or some way of adjusting the height before final mounting. Interested in seeing how it's done.

I have seen pictures of peeps that were used many years ago. The style I’m referring to is simply a threaded bolt type with a round aperture on top. It appears as if elevation adjustments are done by screwing the entire treaded bolt up or down. Left-Right adjustments would be accomplished by moving the front sight.

I do not know the time period those were used.

Muzzleloaders Builders Supply. They sell them both in brass and iron in 2 different aperture sizes. Semper Fi.

Pedersoli makes a peep (ghost ring) which might be similar to the type you are describing. It would require proper placement on the tang and possibly a another tang bolt added.

i installed this sight on my 32 seneca on the barrel and it works great i added a small screw for vertical adjustment it also has a adjustable iris

I use the Johnson peep sight on all my muzzleloaders now. They work great!

I just purchased one of the peep sights that user "Tom A Hawk" here sells and am very happy with it. It should not require any extra holes to mount on your rifle.
