Here is 1 of my Seneca’s with the Factory Tang Peep, Same Exact Tang Peep used for the TC Cherokee

I have a new unfired Seneca in .45 that I would really like to find one of those for. I just really hate to spend what they bring though. I might end up installing the Skinner peep on it as well.

Grimord we'd love to see a pic. I am redoing a T/C Tree Hawk. Are you referencing the hole shown here in the breech plug?

The Low Pro is an attractive sight and looks real durable. I am assuming the thread size on these T/C's is 6/48. Please advise and thanks for the intel.

Pete Davis in Virginia

Pete that breech hole is 6-48 and drilled about .200 deep in my T/C Grey Hawk. I am going to drill/tap my New Englander in the same exact spot.

Thanks NoDrama. I wonder if that existing hole depth (.200") is sufficient to allow the installation of the Low Pro? Maybe answered my own question LOL. Just need to read closer. I installed a Skinner Winged rear on a Marling 1895M. I mismatched the front with a Brockmann and needed a longer stem after I shimmed the base. Skinner sent me the longer stem immediately and N/C. A great business. C'mon n' chime in Grimord.

I have a low-pro in 8-40 on one of my Marlin Rifles. I took it off and measured it. With the aperture bottomed out on the knurled lock ring I have .210 left on the stud. It should work perfect.

Who makes that sight?..I like the idea of a big peep for seeing more of the target ,,and the smaller peep inside for more accurate shooting.
I found it on ebay not sure is making it I know the Midway also has them the one I got has a set screw n the rear base so you can adjust it side to side

received the first Skinner Low-Pro sight today and installed it in the Grey Hawk. It is perfect. Plenty of vertical adjustment and it is VERY unobtrusive compared to the factory T/C peep. This is a new unfired Grey Hawk I am planning on hunting with next month.IMG_4666.JPG9iDWUl8ATWCTNGXVk99LZA.jpguugLgwqmT7+oMKRymHgXkA.jpg

I like the Looks of it, But I’m not fond of where it mounts, That thing is gonna get some Serious Blowback on it. You will want to make darn sure and Clean that Peep really well after each use. Is it made of Steel?

If you shoot Real Blackpowder I Highly advice the use of Treso/Ampco nipples, they have a tiny .028 Flash hole, Therefore less Blowback. These things Hold up better than any other Nipple i have tried by Far. The Flash hole at .028 is to small for reliable ignition if you shoot the Sub Powders

Yes the location is the only concern for me as well. It is blued steel. I imagine I will sight it in with the aperture in then pull it out and hunt with the ghost ring minus there aperture.
I have 7 lbs of Goex FFF, one pound of Pyrodex and about 2/3rds a pound of 777. The musket nipple was in it when I took it out of the box. I plan on starting with Goex and changing the nipple out as well. Where can one find the Treso/Ampco nipples?

I have the correct drill and tap coming if I choose to move it back farther to minimize the blowback issue.

The fellas at Rendezvous would slap me around if I put a peep sight on any of my rifles so I've gone to the next best thing. A little piece of black electrical tape stuck inside the upper left corner of the right lens of my safety glasses. It has a little hole made by a leather punch and works just like a peep sight... crystal clear front and rear sight. Some clubs won't even allow that if they catch you with it, but if they push it I'd rather hit the target for no score than miss all day trying.

I am gonna take a wild guess and say that if you mounted a scope on your rifle they might hang you?

on the subject of the front sight I am considering installing a Lyman 17 AML globe. Would anyone have an idea what height I should try? .464 or .404? Is there a formula to use to try and figure it out? I will probably also try the Lee Shavers sight set as the crosshair sight looks like it would work well.

I have a TC New Englander Which is the Same Gun as your Greyhawk except Blued instead of Stainless, Same as the TreeHawk, just a Camo Version of the New Englander and Greyhawk. I have a Lyman 57SML Tang Peep on mine, and a Lyman 17AHB Front Globe which i use the Shaver’s BPCR inserts in. I much prefer the 17AHB Front Globe at .404 High, It allows me to keep my Peep Bridge Lower, I have the AHB on 6-8 Muzzleloaders.
From the looks of your Skinner peep (looks really Low Profile) You are gonna want the Lowest Globe Possible, Which is the AHB, What is the Height of the Skinner? How much adjustability is there?

I measured and with it screwed all the way down it is .410 from the top of the barrel to the center of the aperture. I would think the Front globe at .404 would be about right? I also have a New Englander but it is an early model that was not drilled and tapped in the breech for the mount. If I can get the Grey Hawk set up the way I want then I am planning on drilling and tapping the New Englander.

Easy enough to put a flash cup on the nipple to protect it. I am running them on all my nippled guns to help protect the wood. They work like a charm.
