I am looking at buying a 40 cal Schuetzen Rifle. Anyone having experience with shooting these?

That is a very nice rifle!
Is the false muzzle with it?
It is a ball starter for this gun.

Looks like it is set up for a false muzzle which many Schuetzen guns, even some that took cartridges were is the reason I ask.

It uses the piston style guide bullet starter, nice rifle.

I see it has the "California Ridge".
I am sure you will enjoy this rifle, I shot a schuetzen rifle for many years in competition.
This appears to be the very same rifle as shown in my copy of
"The American Percussion Schuetzen Rifle by Hamilton and Rowe.
Pages 282 and 283.
That is a very nice find!
