Has anyone ever made a wad cutter that will cut wads for a 12ga? I found some small sheets of cork and I think it would make a great over powder wad. I tried using a 12ga. Shell and cut the plastic out and resized it. Though it cut great the wads are still too large. Any ideas? I

Maybe a piece of 3/4 inch copper tubing filed sharp and used like a punch.........Also I've heard of using a hole saw with the teeth ground off and using a drill..............Good luck.......Bob

Search for item # 12GAPMWP on www.buffaloarms.com, it's "a little pricey", but just what you want. Or, there's a company called Ballistics Products (or something like that) that specializes in accessories and supplies for specialty shotgun reloading, they might have a punch.

There's a whole page of "gasket punches" on ebay now. I have a whole set of these. In addition to the 3/4" for 12 gauge, the smaller ones work well for cap n ball revolver wads, black powder cartridge wads, leather work, etc.

I have jury rigged wad cutters out of steel tubing, old scraps of cut off barrels, you name it. When working with odd ball bore size one sometimes may have to improvise. With any standard gage from 10-28 ga. however, one can get 1000 wads from Circle Fly for about eight bucks. Even I don't have THAT much more time than money. I use "cushion wads" only when firing ball. For shot loads I use two .125" "nitro-cards" over powder and split a nitro-card as an overshot card. Thus I only have to purchase and carry one type of wad. :m2c: PS, those .125" cards would be a real bear to make with any hand punch even if you could find .125" card stock.

just saw the round end off of a airgun CO2 cartridge...
sharpen the cut edge with a dremmel tool...
I cut paper over shot cards and cork over powder wads with one !! works great..FOR 12 GAUGE
