I know CVA made one years ago, but is anyone offering one for sale other than pedersoli? 800+ bucks for a kit is a bit expensive. I'd like to put one together on a budget.

Other than finding an unassembled CVA kit somewhere, about the best thing you're going to do is find an already assembled CVA, Pietta, NA or Pedersoli at an attractive price, then disassemble it and refinish it to suit yourself, and call it a "kit."
