Just wondering if anybody was willing to share some patterns for frocks, trousers, capotes. Etc... I appreciate it, I could go and just buy them, but how do I know if they work any good? Thanks.

You're not gonna know if a pattern fits you or not until you try it!!!

Shirts are no problem, and aren't done with patterns (well, they certainly don't have to be). Rectangles and triangles. The hardest things to fit will be jackets/coats, and breeches. Unless you're 145 pounds, then everything will fit you perfectly. :hatsoff:

Jas. Townsend & Son has patterns, but I would only buy them for waistcoat, breeches/tousers, and frock coats. A shirt or hunting frock is too simple to spend money on a pattern.

Also, if you are using fabric that's expensive, as some of the wool is very expensive, get a few yards of the cheapest polyester & cotton stuff that you can find and do a test sewing. That will allow you to adjust for your particular body shape AND give you a good idea on how to piece everything together before you cut expensive stuff.

When you are done, you can cut up the poly-cotton into gun cleaning, patches..., just don't try to use them for patching round ball. :shocked2:
