So, what is everyone using for a stock sealer and finish since we can't get Permalyn?
Any news on when it will be available?

WOW, need to check my cabinet to see just what I have. Good stuff, did not ever think Permalyn would be short like powder and caps. Birchwood Casey is good stuff also.

Jim Chambers stock oil is my go to.

I've also used Tried and True Varnish Oil. It's also really good but requires sun light to dry in 24 hours. Once it's cured I used Renaissance wax for added protection against moisture. That stuff is amazing. You can put it on metal and wood.

J.D. Beck recently produced a new stock oil and stock wax. I haven't finished a stock with it yet, but I've done some tests on scrap and it seems really good. I'm seeing some posts out there where builders have used it and the look is really nice. He developed the recipe based on some 18th century ingredients.
