Good for you!!! :hatsoff: That gives great hope for many of the rest of us.
I will never forget that when I came home on leave and I was 20, I spent a day with my Grandpa and he delighted in showing me all the projects he was working on as well as me showing him a couple things I worked on. At the time, he was 84 and had outlived Grandma by about 15 years.
We were having a cup of coffee when he looked up at the clock and it was almost 6:00 PM. After taking another sip of coffee, he remarked in a very matter of fact manner, "Well, Son, guess it is about time you go out and get yourself a woman for the night."
Hard to imagine as a 20 year old Marine Sergeant with a short combat tour in Cambodia under his belt, but I was shocked speechless and choked on my coffee. Grandpa had NEVER spoken to me like that before and if Grandma were still alive, she would have skinned him alive for saying it. When I finally quit choking and cleared my throat, I grinned and replied, "Grandpa, I didn't imagine you even thought about that much anymore."
"Thought about it?!!," he replied in a stern voice, "Who do you think is taking care of the Ladies' Sewing Circle at Church?" Then he smiled a devilish grin and pointed out one did his laundry, one did his cleaning and a couple occasionally cooked and baked for him. I laughed and shook my head and replied, "Grandpa, I hope I am HALF the man at your age."
