Persona making.

My wife and awhile back started working on a persona and she has found a welth of info on her family.I will be from England as the family we know of was very English.I have a problem in that nobody in my family "exsists" before 1928.My father,grand father havepassed away and my grandma only knows about her parents and that they were snooty English from New York.They moved to Oklahoma and then Oragon at some point but thats about it.Man some one some where had to keep records on some one right? I cant eaven get info from the Family Bible other then to Marie.I will just make one up I guess.can anyone recomend some good reading on the subject of persona devlopment ?
