Runewolf I used 575 round balls in my 62 cal. smoothbore. I made cartridges out of some heavy art paper I picked up at AC Moore. Gave me about 5 inch groups at 50 yds. with no rear sight.
modern pewter is too light and won't fly well. I read about a fellow that tried silver, and it to was too light. A fellow that used to post here quite a bit used glass marbles to practice with and from his account had some success, but went to lead just before the hunting season.
