I have always used #10 caps but the new nipples are labeled for #11 caps. Anyone have actual experience with this dilemma?
BTW, the manual does not refer to cap size in any fashion

See what fits. Then either decide to choose the caps to fit the nipples, or replace the nipples to fit caps of your choice. I'm using #10 caps on my Traditions Crockett rifle now, but had to do some turning down of a nipple to make them fit. However, they work great.

Use what caps will fit and make it go boom. Different brands of caps differ in size even when they are labeled as the same size. Guns labeled to use #11 of one brand will work with #10 of another brand. Won’t know until you try to use whatever caps you have. I don’t have any caps other than CCI 11s and 1075 RWS but I’ll figure out a way to use them on whatever I have. It’s cheaper to change nipples or make what you have work with a file than finding different caps.

I've been using pinched CCI #11's on my Pietta Navy brassers. Which is good, because I have tons of them.

This constant hunt for Rem #10's gets old. I wish modern repros would just standardize on CCI #11's. Even my local sporting goods stores cary them in abundance.

ANd they don't kick off?

I've been using the RWS 1075 caps on my Pietta navies and they fit good. These are stock nipples and they work on all four of them.

As they did on mine. I bought a nipple set but not yet delivered. The info about them said #11...as did all the other sites that had replacement nipples for pietta 1951. Guess I'll find out when they show up. #11's would be easier as #10 hard to find

None here locally only source I found online is ~$40.00 for 250 and ~$155.00 for 1000. Kinda pricey. They perform that much better?

o_O x 10

I bought six tins of Remington #11 caps last week at ~$8 each.......................................................and then I got our usual 10% club discount.

I second the change out to SlixSprings nipples. A little pricey, but they seem to last a loooong time. And a lot less agrivation. Once I switched I have been able to use #11 caps from CCI, Remington & Winchester without issue. I have not tried them with RWS caps.
