That is a good idea on the ones you pour or even for a store bought type. As I understand it home poured tend to be a bit larger?

As noted the store bought JD were .460 (that is the official and actual measurement) and very difficult for the NMW and 47 Walker.

They fit the ROA fine.

If you have tapered chambers they may go in ok as well.
 
RCBS has a mold for the 455 Webley pistol. When cast with pure lead and lubed with SPG they shoot just fine in my 1847 Walker, Rogers & Spencer and Remington Navy Revolver.
