I just bought this revolver in 44 cal and am quite happy with it although I do feel that the fit and finish on my Uberti 1851 36 cal. Navy is a little better, There are a few sharp edges here and there and the fit of wood to metal isn't as good on the Pietta. That said it is a joy to shoot and quite accurate right out of the box where as the Uberti navy needed some modification of the hammer to eliminate cap jams and I had to file the sight notch in the hammer to lower the point of impact. The Pietta has a slight flat to the left of the rear sight which reflected the sun and caused me to hit to the left but once I realized what was happening I was able to correct it by setting up an umbrella behind me, I do need to address the flat spot once I decide what to do about it. The first picture realy shows the flat with the sun reflecting on it, it shows a little in the second picture and the third picture shows the 5 shots to the left before putting up an umbrella to shade the sun. I am pretty happy with that right out of the box with 30 grains of fffg and wonder wad over powder shot at 20 yards with a tripod rest. I tried a couple rounds with Crisco but that was to messy for me, as I am used to using wonder wads with the Uberti navy for the last few yrs.
