In my first life as a blackpowder shooter in the 70s I used Muslin all the time. It is thinner than pillowticking and therefore easier to load. Most of my shooting back then was out in farm fields without the benefit of a loading bench so easier was better. Then I started using these plastic Poly patch things, made loading real easy. Didn't shoot those for very long though before I had to sell my stuff to support my stomach-starving student syndrome :grin:
