I built a pistol ramrod for the range. Might even carry it with the pistol hunting. I think it will work for a short starter too.
I was getting a sore hand at the range loading pillow ticking patches. Not now.

What does everyone use for there pistols???

I use a short starter also. I need to make a new ramrod for my 50. I ordered a new Hickory ramrod for my trade gun and I'm hoping I have enough left for my pistol, probably not lol.

I use a pistol stand, and my RR has a T chunk of wood at the top. I also have one very similar to the one you just made.

I have the TC Patriot version. I made a short (long enough for loading) starter for mine. The rod is Delrin, the knob is maple with a brass stub. I also use it for cleaning. No worries and especially no sore hands. :thumb:

Custom Delrin handled with soft foam bike grip over delrin grip and Stainless rod with nylon tip starter for .36-.45 calibers...Hard door nob shape handed with aluminum tip starter and stainless rod for .29 to .32 calibers...Both with nylon bore guides and interchangeable brass tips. Aluminum skinny rod with brushs for cleaning and mops for swabbing with alcohol after every five shots. These custom loading rods are customized and better than any I have found for sale by commercial sellers. Most durable, easy on barrels and less effort to load. If you walked the pistol line during the NMLRA national championships you will find many similar set ups used by competitors...Pistols pictured are a flint Open match type Tri-L or Lewis pistol in .32cal. The traditional match caplock is a original 1840s Swiss Casimer Weber made some would call a Kuchenruter style pistol in .29cal...Loading stand was made by national champion Russ Combs with removable fittings for all my match pistols...
