I am happy with my [Pedersoli Traditional Hawken] purchase and if I like BP ML as much as I think I will, I'm sure I will invest in a much better rifle down the road...
Best wishes, David

Actually Dave, no, you probably won't -- you'll likely just spend more (and get something a little different).

BTW, if the deafening din of commentary about Lyman's GPR as well as all their customer service turning to rubbish in recent years is to be ignored then so should any earlier positive reputation they ever had... Let the buyer beware.

2_Tall So when people say to inspect a gun before you buy it they are spot on. [/quote said:
This is absolutely correct and is good advice. Not only can you check the fit, but examine the product also. I have picked up at the store two Pedersolis I ordered online from Cabela's in the last three months and in each case opened the carton and examined them carefully before I would accept delivery. Pedersolis are generally good quality guns, but I have been disappointed on a few previous occasions with them too.

BB I handled one of those Greeen River Rifle Works a while back. It was a Johnathon Browning Hawken. At least I take it to be the same It was 1 1/8 inch and prob 12 lbs. Man it felt good and solid to hold and sight. But no way would I carry it. :( It was a .50 cal and I thought about getting it and have it bored to .62 cal. It would be a nice gun and a bit lighter but still not a rifle to carry. Larry

Dunno about the original users, but that's sure the case with my 12# 58 cal GRRW Hawken. It's my favorite rifle by a mile, but it doesn't get to go on many hunts. :surrender:

Browning made a good rifle if a bit heavy. The .50 and .54 versions could take a big ole charge safely and quite a few big critters got knocked into the nickle bleachers with them.
