I was given a rifle from my mother in-law. I believe it is called a Cap Lock percussion. Very nice with lots of details. Only markings I can find are by the lock it says Spinning & Stansberry Co. Found one on an Auction site but it only has a 1/2 stock. The One I have is full stock.

Based only on your post and without pictures, it is impossible to tell you what you have. What's on the lock often means little as there were any variety of import and "hardware store" locks used on guns throughout the 19th century. The lock may not even be original.

Clear pictures of each side of the butt, from forward of the lock back. A full length shot and shots of any details like inlays or carving, would be very helpful.

Enjoy, J.D.

sounds to me like what you have is a caplock percussion in fullstock with Spinning and Stansberry co. stamped on the lock.
