Please help me identify this gun

I came across this little stock and lock a while ago, and quickly gave it to a friend for parts. Today he gave it back to me when I mentioned I wanted to build a squirrel gun. It needs a barrel - so before I waste endless hours online, I thought the great minds here could help me Identify it. The barrel channel measures 29/32", which is just over 7/8", definitely too small for a 15/16" barrel. It uses a hooked breech. I'd like to find a small caliber barrel for it. Any help is appreciated.

To me that lock has early CVA all over it. I had a caplock rifle in .45 I believe they were calling a "Kentucky" rifle that had that same lock. I foolishly parted with it years ago and wish I did not because it was a tack driver. I'm not sure about the rest of everything but you may be able to research some of their earlier firearms to get an idea of what would fit. If I had to guess a Jukar Spanish made barrell of the right length might drop right in.

Appears to be a CVA, though not a Kentucky model. Wait for someone like @Frontier's to chime in and let you know what you have. He has a love for these guns and knows them pretty well.

You may also want to post a photograph or two looking down into the tang area of the stock to help id it.

Will do thanks! Here are a couple more pics. I'd really like to find a 32 or maybe 36 caliber barrel for it if anyone has a suggestion.

I’ll go with CVA, unless some others cut a ramrod channel instead of a drilled hole.
